Hi, I'm Arjun.

I am a senior at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, MI. I am passionate about finance, economics, and math and also enjoy software development and writing. My endeavors include raising money through business sponsorships, writing and selling my books, leading clubs like DECA, and working to develop solutions to essential social problems through the use of business tools and applications.

I am a James Lewis High School Global Leader Scholar and the recipient of this year's Michigan Governor's Changemaker Award and Youth Service Award. I want to develop cost-effective methods and consistent strategies for different commodity price hedging both in the government and private sectors. I am very keen to explore the different aspects of quantitative finance and impact investing.

What I Do

I work to analyze problems and to build solutions for the sake of a more efficient and more just society. I do this by means of applying my knowledge of economics, software, and mathematics to construct & develop apps and manage / lead volunteering projects in my community, like zero-hunger. Having taken rigorous coursework in economics and math, I want to be able to apply my knowledge to business in unprecedented, yet fully appreciated ways.

Published Books

I started writing books in 6th grade and have continued ever since. My works, in order, are The Adventures of Jimmy Hailbuster, The Grim Reaper in the Alley, and Nate Culisbury. I am also the author of several short stories such as Seoul Life. I focus on entrepreneurship by selling my works and organizing book-selling events.

Research

I have conducted extensive research on applied mathematics and mathematical biology topics. These include creating multiple apps in the R language to address issues that spring from circadian rhythms and sleep deprivation, in my role as a research intern at Arcascope. I have also developed a Genetic Algorithm for Germline Somatic Mutation project for peers with ASD using Raspberry PI and other software & hardware tools.

Bettering Ann Arbor

Starting in my freshman year, I have worked consistently on enlarging the scope & scale of my volunteering & “giving back” work in my community. Bettering AAPS is my most visible project in this area, and my teammates and I have raised over $21,000, conducted multiple cleanup projects, and worked with various organizations for our goal of achieving quality education for all. We have expanded internationally too, sharing our work with institutions in India and China.
